Last week I happened to go to the market with Amma to buy household items.
While walking with Amma, a thought crossed my mind that I had seen my universal mother sitting in her grand appearance and also seen her walking in the crowd with utmost simplicity. Though Amma would be in her all knowing state in any situation but may be my love for Amma made me feel possessive about her sometimes and I expressed my feelings to Amma saying “that people in the market may not be knowing who She is but sometimes when people who know, are ignorant of celebrating this opportunity of being with Her; this makes her feel sad; how would she come out of this and be balanced?”.
My compassionate mother knew that my innermost feelings were not being judgmental about anybody but it was the pain that none should let go of such a blessed opportunity.
Amma simply smiled and said there is nothing to feel bad about as the universe has its own way of celebrating this mother whether she goes to a mandir or market. Saying so Amma just stood there and picked a potato from a basket and showed it to me saying that if “one is connected to one’s true identity which is love, then one would see its reflection everywhere“. I was surprised looking at the potato as it was in a perfect heart shape as a symbol of Love to acknowledge what Amma was explaining to me.
Later Amma said that “When you respect your presence then you would experience how the universe also joins in celebrating the cosmic dance whereever you are; it does not matter whether one is in a Mandir or Market”.
It was a learning for me that mother’s love for all her children is the same and it’s her will that creates the situations around for us to learn to surrender our thoughts to Amma and walk further in our journey towards self.
