Pranams to all,
I was part of trip to Kangra and Rishikesh with Amma.
Once, brother Sudharshan had shared how he was blessed to experience the presence of Panjurli (a demigod) while Amma was talking about Panjurli. They could all hear the sound of ghaggara ( it’s a hollow anklet with beads inside and we Tulunadu people worship demigods and this anklet is worn by Nartakas which most of you all must have seen during the Bhootha kola event).
I had the longing to experience the same. But I never expressed it to Amma verbally.
During our visit to Kangra, we were staying in Kanchan didi’s house and one night after dinner we all were sitting around Amma and we were having fun filled chitchats. When Amma spoke, it felt like time was frozen. Amma was narrating many fun filled stories and we were all laughing our hearts out. And with every conversation Amma brought out a profound message of life with so much ease.
Then Amma told us “chalo chalo bacho go and sleep now”. That is when we realised that the time was 3am. We completely forgot about time in Amma’s presence for which Amma told us that it was because when we concentrate on the presence of the divine alone, we would be tuned into our higher consciousness, where there is no sleep, hunger and no limitations of time and space.
And as Amma started climbing the stairs, Amma looked at me and said that Panjurli was always around Amma. We asked Amma if we could experience his presence? Immediately Amma just called out his name with so much compassion in her voice “Panjurli“ and in no time soothing sandal wood fragrance started spreading and it filled the entire hall. This was like the fragrance in the temple sanctum sanctorum and we all were mesmerised with that divine fragrance. There was complete silence and all of a sudden we heard a loud and clear ghaggara sound. It was that authentic sound which can be produced by only that anklet of Panjurli. We all had goosebumps and tears. After that the energy subsided slowly; somewhere the mind searched here and there whether it was produced by any object but
nothing was there. Amma showed us her ankles saying “look Amma is also not wearing any kada/anklets today”.
And Amma told us, “Have you all noticed that at 3 am, as per your prayers, Panjurli made his presence felt and none of you thought of offering your gratitude to him; instead, all of you were looking here and there to check from where the sound must have come from!
The universe is ever present to converse with you and let it flow through you by not doubting your own ability. Have faith in what you have experienced and you don’t have to prove it to anyone. Always be humble and be grateful”.
Every moment of being with Amma was a learning experience. We can write a book about these 10 days. Amma was practically teaching us and reminding us of our true nature – that is truth, love and simplicity.
