My faith in Amma has always been strong and to prove that, Amma blessed me with this experience.
The day before Varamaha Lakshmi festival, my mother asked me to mop the kitchen floor and keep the table clean, before I go to bed so that it would help her do the remaining work in the morning.
As everyone was asleep, I had closed my living room door and was mopping so that I would not disturb them with my work. After mopping, around 12:45 a.m, I had tied the mosquito net and was about to enter my bed when i remembered that I had forgotten to open the door to the hall. To my surprise, the door which was latched opened on it’s own. I thought I had not latched It properly and it opened because of the wind. Then it struck my mind that I had closed all the windows as it was very cold outside.
The next moment I heard the sound of anklets just beside me. Even when I am writing this i have goosebumps and started chanting all the slokas I knew and switched on my phone’s flash light (It was in dim mode). I saw a very bright light which covered the entire room suddenly. A light which i have never seen before. It was unbelievable. Then I saw a shadow coming towards me. l felt someone was just beside me and lifted my head. The shadow was falling right on my bed and I was sure I would see Amma. Then I saw a woman with kireeta ( goddess crown) and opened hair (in the shadow). I couldn’t believe my own eyes. It was Amma herself. I was shaken and got little frightened for a while and I prayed to her to stay in the pooja room and that we would do pooja for her in the morning.
When we were about to start the decoration for the festival on the day of Varamaha Lakshmi, my father said to my mother that the Aum and Swastik which were drawn in the Pooja room a week back was looking so fresh that day. Then I got up with happy tears and told that Amma was already here waiting for us.
